Project Engineer.
The engine room of the project team. Technical, organised, Sydney based.
The role.
You would sit alongside the project manager and carry the technical and procurement load: RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, procurement schedules and the day to day coordination that keeps trades moving in the right order.
On a small team you see the whole project, from design coordination through to handover.
What you would do.
- Raise and track RFIs, and chase the consultants who sit on them
- Review shop drawings and submittals against the documentation
- Run procurement schedules so materials land before the trade does
- Update the programme and flag the slippage early
- Coordinate subcontractors on site sequencing and interfaces
- Keep quality records, ITPs and as built documentation current
- Support the project manager on cost reporting and variations
- Help close out defects and handover
What you need.
- A degree in civil, structural or construction engineering, or equivalent site experience
- You can read structural and architectural documentation and find the clash
- Organised with documents: version control matters to you
- Able to hold a technical conversation with an engineer and a practical one with a chippie
- Current driver licence
Nice to have, not essential: Remedial or strata experience, White card, Experience with Procore, Aconex or similar, AutoCAD or Revit.
